The consultant will create a Toolkit for Participatory Evaluation of Practice, which will become a robust guide for local civil society organisations (CSOs) to evaluate their practice and programmes. The consultant will then pilot use of the toolkit amongst local CSOs working across different contexts, and finally deliver training to Family for Every Child Members through online training workshops.

Details

Local CSOs have extensive knowledge and experience from years of working with children and communities to develop solutions to improve children’s care. Exchanging this expertise is at the heart of what we do at Family for Every Child. For practice exchange to be impactful for both CSOs and the children and families they support, it should be rooted in evaluated practice. As such, the consultant will:

Convene a reference group of members to feed in their views and experiences relating to practice evaluation;

  1. Develop a toolkit containing mechanisms which demonstrate a participatory approach to the evaluation of practice;
  2. Pilot the toolkit with members working across thematic areas of Sexual Violence Prevention, Domestic Violence, Children on the Move and Kinship Care;
  3. Make final adaptations to the toolkit based on learnings from the pilot and engage in design processes for the creation of the digital version of the toolkit;
  4. Deliver 1 or 2 online training sessions/webinars on the toolkit. This project will take place between June 2022 and March 2023.
