Join us for this How We Care online event, 'Caring for those who care: international approaches to supporting Kinship Care', where we will hear from our members in Brazil (Associação Brasileira Terra dos Homens) and Zimbabwe (Farm Orphans Support Trust) about the importance of kinship care in supporting vulnerable children, in their respective contexts. We will also hear from a member of our wider network in New Zealand (Grandparents Raising Grandchildren) in advance of the event through a video which will be circulated to signed up registrants.

Through presentations and panel discussions we will hear why the extended family is considered so essential for supporting vulnerable children across regions. We will learn about the programmes, practices and tools that these CSOs use to empower vulnerable grandparent caregivers, so that they may protect and care for children. And we will hear about the barriers they face in their work to promote kinship care and their successes in overcoming these.

The session will be moderated by Gemma Gilham, Senior Programme Advisor at Family for Every Child.

The duration of the event is 1 hour, including time for a Q&A session. Spanish and Portuguese interpretation will be available.
