The Martin James Foundation (MJF)

The Martin James Foundation (MJF) is an international charity committed to protecting and improving the lives of vulnerable children with a specific focus on children and young people separated from their families, placed in institutions and those traumatized by conflict or forced migration. We believe separated, vulnerable and displaced children’s needs are best met in a loving, nurturing family environment and not in institutions.

MJF has a network of over 300 foster care and other child care practitioners, with over 30 years of collective experience of successful delivery of innovative, quality foster care and family strengthening services. Our roots and legacy enable us to empower change worldwide through global and local partnerships, leveraging our extensive knowledge, practitioner skills, experience, and proven best practice models.

MJF comprises of three entities: The MJF central team based in Birmingham UK, FosterTalk – the UK foster care services provider, and the four Key Assets not-for-profit affiliates providing high-quality foster care and family strengthening services in Australia, Canada, Japan and New Zealand.

SAIEVAC

The South Asia Initiative to End Violence Against Children (SAIEVAC) is an inter-governmental body in partnership with Children and Civil Society Organizations, with a vision that all children, girls and boys, throughout South Asia should enjoy their right to an environment free from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect and discrimination.

This regional pioneer initiative driven by the commitment of South Asian governments- Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka- strongly engages a wide-range of stakeholders including Governments, children, INGOs, UN Agencies and civil society organizations.

In a cooperative, innovative and participatory manner all stakeholders are bound by the commitment to achieve greater impact for children across the region. Throughout the years SAIEVAC has strongly collaborated with the South Asian Coordinating Group for Ending Violence Against Women and Children (SACG) while moving ahead under the guidance from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Today SAIEVAC has strengthened its institutional linkages becoming a SAARC apex body, a connection that further reinforces the regional cooperation necessary for raising awareness, building capacities and sharing good practices and lessons learnt in preventing and responding to violence against children.

UNICEF

UNICEF

UNICEF works in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents – and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. Across more than 190 countries and territories, we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive and fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

The world’s largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation.

Before, during and after humanitarian emergencies, UNICEF is on the ground, bringing lifesaving help and hope to children and families. Non-political and impartial, we are never neutral when it comes to defending children’s rights and safeguarding their lives and futures.

And we never give up.
